| Calling all advanced skiers and boarders
looking for a challenge! Our Trip leaders, Lance &
Tracy, love Jackson Hole and are looking forward
to showing you all of their favorite runs! Join TBA at Tampa
International Airport for another great trip to Jackson Hole.
We will be Staying at 49er INN and Suites, the space will
go fast.
THE SKI AREA: The reason you really want
to go on this trip is THE MOUNTAIN! JACKSON HOLE
is comprised of 2 mountains-Rendezvous and Apres Vous covering
a total of 2500 acres. The area has such a reputation for
the “Steep and Deep” that many intermediate skiers miss out
on the large amount of new, less challenging terrain available.
The trails are now 50% intermediate and beginner. This is
about the same as many other ski resorts visited by our skiers!
The base elevation is 6311 ft , the summit is 10,450ft making
the 4139 ft of vertical rise the longest continuous in the
country! The lift system is among the best with 6 quads, 4
smaller lifts, an “8-pack” gondola and the King of them all,
a new 100 passenger cable car! No waiting
at Jackson Hole! For the extreme skiers there are, in addition
to the 50% marked expert runs, 3000+ acres of gated backcountry
area! No matter what your choice of runs, you will find them
at Jackson. For you ‘boarders, there is a full sized terrain
park and a super pipe on Apres Vous. Low priced group
lift tickets and rental equipment will be available.
At the mountain base, you will find a variety of shops and
dining options in Teton Village.
THE TOWN OF JACKSON: Jackson was founded
by beaver trappers in the 1800’s, and that pioneer flavor
remains as one of its most charming aspects. The focal point
of the town is the Town Square featuring trademark antler
arches which were built in 1968 using elk antlers shed on
the National Elk Refuge. Wildlife is as abundant now as it
was in those early days. Thanks to the breathtaking views
and the variety of recreational activities in the area, Jackson
Hole is now one of the leading destinations in the Rocky Mountains.
Skiing, hiking, wildlife watching, mountain climbing, horseback
riding, photography, backpacking, snowmobiling, bicycling
and camping are just some of the activities that await the
outdoor enthusiast. Once you are ready to wind down for the
day, Jackson’s 100 bars and restaurants have something for
everyone from Chuckwagon cookouts to 5 star dining. Jackson
features an impressive array of specialty shops, art galleries,
museums and fine restaurants. The surrounding area features
the Bridger Teton National Forest, Hoback Canyon, the National
Elk Refuge, Snake River and Snake River Canyon, and the Wind
River Mountains. We plan on offering the group a tour of the
Elk Refuge and the National Wildlife Art Gallery as an optional
event. Stroll along the wooden sidewalks of the historic
town square and visit the unique shops, nightspots, and restaurants.
Looking for artwork? Galleries galore! From classic to contemporary,
there are over 25 art galleries featuring all of the big names
in Western art.
