Like nothing on earth.

Vail is a giant among the world's ski resorts in size, annual skier visits and reputation for providing vacation experiences without comparison. Sprawling 5,289 acres with seven legendary Back Bowls that stretch six miles, Vail Mountain is the largest ski resort in the United States, welcoming approximately 1.6 million skiers and snowboarders annually.

Ranked the No. 1 ski resort in the U.S. by SKI Magazine 14 of the past 21 years, Vail consistently dominates annual skier polls as the industry gold standard.

Off the slopes, the town of Vail is completing a renaissance with a variety of new hotels, restaurants and shops. The Lodge at Vail, A RockResort, unveils its new RockResorts Spa this season. Throughout the town, guests can enjoy world-class dining, shopping, art galleries, après ski, nightlife, spa services and premium hotel rooms.

The Mountain

Vail boasts three distinct areas of the mountain, each with their own features and fortes, including four terrain parks, seven bowls and 5,289 acres of freeride terrain.  At seven miles wide, finding fresh tracks is as easy as finding elbow room.  In fact, on an average day, there are only two skiers per acre, and on a busy day, only four!  Vail is the largest ski resort in the U.S.
